Looking Back: The King and Anderson Plantation Through My Eyes

A Public Lecture by

Marne Anderson

Marne Anderson grew up on her family plantation, "King and Anderson" outside Clarksdale, Mississippi, at one time among the largest cotton plantations in the state. Marne will share the history of this land from the 1800s to the present, as well as describing her childhood in the Delta. Her presentation will include photographs, plantation journals, and other plantation memorabilia.

Marne Anderson is a graduate of Tulane University with a double major in Art History and English Literature. She is a graduate of Leith's School of Food and Wine in London, England, where she owned a catering business. She is currently General Sales Manager for the Victor Robilio Wholesale Wine and Liquor Company in Memphis and is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the Commanderie de Bordeaux, and the Chevaliers du Tastevin. She is a Certified Specialist of Wine, a Certified Spanish Wine Educator, and a graduate of Leadership Memphis.

The public is encouraged to attend this free program.
