Approaching via Interstate 40 - from the West
Cross the I-40 bridge.
Nearing the end of the bridge, take Exit 1 (Riverside Dr./Front St.) and drive 0.2 miles.
Take the Riverside Dr. ramp and drive 0.2 miles.
Turn slightly right onto North Riverside Dr. and drive 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Union Ave. and continue 0.2 miles.
The Peabody Hotel (149 Union Ave.) will be on your right at the intersection of Union Ave./Second St.
Turn right onto Second St. and then almost immediately left into the Peabody parking and passenger loading area.

Approaching via Interstate 40 - from the East
As you near Memphis, merge onto I-40 W at Exit 10B.
Drive 11.6 miles. (This is the loop around Memphis.)
Continue with I-40 W by taking Exit 1E toward Little Rock and drive 1.5 miles.
Take Exit 1A (Second St.) toward Third St. and drive 0.2 miles.
Veer left onto North Second St. and drive 0.7 miles (headed south now).
The Peabody Hotel is on your left at the intersection of Second St./Union Ave.
Cross Union Ave. and turn almost immediately left into the Peabody parking and passenger loading area.

Approaching via Interstate 55 - from the North
As you approach Memphis, take I-40 E toward Memphis/Nashville. This takes you over the I-40 bridge from Arkansas to Memphis.
Nearing the end of the bridge, take Exit 1 (Riverside Dr./Front St.) and drive 0.2 miles.
Take the Riverside Dr. ramp and drive 0.2 miles.
Turn slightly right onto North Riverside Dr. and drive 0.2 miles.
Turn left onto Union Ave. and continue 0.2 miles.
The Peabody Hotel (149 Union Ave.) will be on your right at the intersection of Union Ave./Second St.
Turn right onto Second St. and then almost immediately left into the Peabody parking and passenger loading area.

Approaching via Interstate 55 - from the South
Approaching Memphis, merge onto I-240 N. and continue 4 miles.
Take Exit 30(Union Ave.). and continue 0.3 miles.
Take the Union Ave. West ramp and continue 0.4 miles.
Turn slightly right onto Union Ave. and continue 1.4 miles.
The Peabody Hotel will be on your left between Third and Second Streets.
Turn left onto Second St. and then almost immediately left into the Peabody parking and passenger loading area.

By Air: The Memphis International Airport is served by most major airlines and is a hub airport for Northwest Airlines. It is located a convenient 10 miles from downtown Memphis, easily accessed by the Interstate loop leading around the city and downtown. Several taxi companies offer service from lanes outside the baggage pickup area. A taxi trip averages $25.00 and takes about 15-20 minutes. Blues City Tours offers shuttle service 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. at a cost of $15 one way/$25 round trip, plus an additional $6.00 pickup fee charged by the airport, advance reservations required. The pick-up fee applies only to the pick-up at the airport, not to the trip from the hotel to the airport. For other arrival times, Blues City will offer pickup for a minimum of four riders. Call 901-522-9229 at least 48 hours in advance and mention MLA. Pay by credit card when calling or only by cash at the time of pickup.

Travelers sometimes find favorable fares to the Little Rock, Arkansas airport, which is a 2 - 2-1/2 hour drive from Memphis. Most major car rental agencies serve the Little Rock airport. This might be a good option for those wanting to take in the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock.
