What's Not in the Library Catalog

  • Music Library
Recordings of recitals at the School are not listed in the catalog. The Music Library maintains a database for the recitals, as well as indexes for the New Music Festival/Imagine and for works by Memphis area composers on the recordings. All can be accessed on the Music Library's web pages
  • Microforms
Individul authors and titles of books and serials reproduced in sets of microfilm, microfiche, and microcards are not presently cataloged. If older imprints or manuscripts that you need are not in the catalog, ask a librarian about specialized bibliographies.
  • Special Collections
While printed materials are accessible in tomCAT, manuscripts, maps, ephemeral items, photographs, icon collections, and University College Special Projects are generally not cataloged. However, the finding aids (guides, registers, etc.) for manuscript collections which have been inventoried and processed are cataloged as "MVP's" (Mississippi Valley Pamphlets). These MVP's are searchable by proper name and subject. Please consult with Special Collections staff before concluding that a desired item or material on a regional topic is not available.
  • Maps
Federal depository maps are not in the catalog. Ask for assistance in the Government Publications Department.
