RefWorks is a web-based citation management software program. Registered users can import citation elements from online indexes--including library catalogs, creating their any number of their own databases devoted to whatever research they are conducting. From these personal databases, users can generate reference lists in hundreds of styles, including MLA and APA.

Instructions for setting up a RefWorks account:

Getting Started:
To create an account, users need to:

  • Click on your library’s RefWorks link or go to www.refworks.com/refworks from an IP authenticated computer.
  • Click on Sign Up for and Individual Account.
  • Enter the appropriate information and click on Register.

After registering, users receive emails from Refworks with their usernames and passwords as well as instructions for remote access.
