BE AWARE: Write-n-Cite does not yet work seamlessly on the Windows/Vista platform. When you use Write-n-Cite with Word 2007, you need to save the document as a .doc file (Word 2003 format)to process it through Write-N-Cite. Word 2007 users can submit a .docx file directly via the Bibliography area of RefWorks. There is an unreleased version of Write-n-Cite that works in Vista; anyone interested in this version can contact RefWorks' Technical Services at support@refworks.com

The University of Memphis recently obtained a site license to RefWorks, a program that helps you manage your references, use them when writing a paper, and automatically format the paper and bibliography in APA style or MLA style, or almost any other that you can imagine. And it's easy!
When you first set up your account with RefWorks, you should be on a University computer (either on-campus or properly authenticated through the proxy-server) to avoid being personally charged for the account.
To set up your RefWorks account,
The first time you log on to RefWorks, you will sign up for an account. Click on this link and fill out the information requested. All this will take about 2 minutes. Then return to RefWorks.
If you want help with RefWorks, classes are available; see Library Database Training for details.
In addition, if instructors would like their classes to receive RefWorks training, sessions can be scheduled with one of us. We are also available for individual instruction. See below for contact information.
If you cannot attend a class, you may now want to check out the following help pages:
Once you are familiar with RefWorks, you can begin adding your own references. You can do this manually by filling out a form or even by exporting references from a number of the Libraries' databases. When you are writing a paper, you can use RefWorks to include references in your paper. Then you can tell RefWorks to format the paper for you any of the traditional styles (APA, MLA, Chicago) or for a specific journal, such as the Journal of Wildlife Management. And all of this is free for all faculty, students, and staff at the University of Memphis.
