Use tomCat (the U of M Library
catalog).
For subject searches, use Library of Congress Subject Headings such as vitamins or nutrition disorders. (LC Subject Headings volumes are available in Reference.)
Also try searching by keywords such as women nutrition. (Leave out words like in, of, on, and the; AND is assumed between words).
To find video tapes, use "videorecording" as a keyword ;e.g., nutrition videorecording .
Copy the call number from the catalog record to find the book. (See How to Find Books.)
netLibrary [UM Only] A collection of over 18,000 electronic books in various disciplines. Some of these items may be available in print as well as electronically.
Use an electronic database.

AGRICOLA (AGRICultural On Line Access)
A government-sponsored database for articles in periodicals and books related to agriculture and allied disciplines.
CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing & Allied Health, 1982- ) [UM Only]
Covers nursing, allied health, biomedical and consumer health journals, publications of the American Nursing Association, and the National League for Nursing.
Clinical Pharmacology [UM Only] Fulltext up-to-date, concise and clinically-relevant information for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs.
Emerald Fulltext [UM Only] Emerald publishes a strong specialist range of nutrition, engineering, applied science and technology journals.
ERIC (1966 - )[UM Only]
Citations of journal articles, books, theses, curriculi, conference papers, and standards, and guidelines having to do with education.
General Science FullText [UM Only]
Part of Wilson Omni File Mega. Indexes periodicals in astronomy, atmospheric science, biology, botany, chemistry, conservation, earth science, environment, food & nutrition, genetics, health & medicine, mathematics, microbiology, oceanography, and physics.

(medicine and health journals, books, 1966-) [UM Only]
Provides citations to journals in the biomedical sciences, including medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, preclinical sciences, and health care. Abstracts available for most citations. Coverage: 1966-.
Nursing and Allied Health Collection: Comprehensive [UM Only] Collection of nearly 400 full-text nursing journals. Includes nursing, biomedicine, consumer health, allied health.
PubMed [Free Online Access]
PubMed is the National Library of Medicine's search service that provides access to over 10 million citations in MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, and other related databases, with links to participating online journals. PubMed also provides access and links to integrated molecular biology databases. These databases contain DNA and protein sequences, 3-D protein structure data, population study data sets, and assemblies of complete genomes in an integrated system.

PsycINFO (1887 - ) [UM Only]
Provides citations and abstracts to articles in over 1,300 journals, plus books and book chapters, and dissertations.
Includes thesaurus of subject headings.
Sociological Abstracts [UM Only] Provides access to the latest research in sociology and related disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences. Indexing began 1963; abstracting began 1974.

Electronic Journals Service (EJS) [UM Only] Electronic journals service available through a common interface for online journal subscriptions. Search, browse, and identify journals and articles available online in either full-text or table-of-content format. Hyperlinks are provided to more than 1,300 electronic journals worldwide.
Expanded Academic Index (1980-) [UM Only]
Indexes about 1,900 magazines, journals, and the NY Times newspaper. Most have abstracts, and about 900 are full text.
IngentaConnect [Open Access]
Formerly Uncover. Browse the publication list or search tables of contents to over 17,000 periodicals; period of coverage varies. Provides document delivery service.
JSTOR [UM Only] The JSTOR database consists of complete backfiles of core scholarly journals which have been digitized, starting with the very first issues.
Lexis-Nexis Academic Universe [UM Only] Provides full text of many magazines and newspapers, including The Commercial Appeal since 1990.

WorldCat [UM Only]
Records of any type of material cataloged by OCLC member libraries, including books, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and websites. Contains manuscripts written as early as the 12th century.
Biological Abstracts (1929-)[Ref Abstract Shelves] -
Use BA to find citations and abstracts from journals focusing on traditional life sciences (botany, ecology, zoology). It also covers journals relating to biochemistry, biomedicine, biotechnology and related areas (instrumentation, methods, etc.).
