E-Commerce continues to become an ever larger portion of the global economy. The Federal government has
major concerns about legal, monetary, and economic issues in this newly emerging marketplace. Listed
below are websites dealing with these issues.

AGENCY INFORMATION
Advisory Commission on Electronic Commerce
This is a congressionally designated Commission to initiate policy on regulations and taxation of
e-commerce worldwide.

E-Commerce Statistics
The first official report of the e-commerce econmy from the Bureau of the Census.

Computer Security Resource Center
This site contains information about a variety of computer security issues, products, and research of concern
to the computer security industy and the IT community.

Electronic Commerce Policy
A general website with official government policy including speeches, documents, and Congressional actions, along with links to other government sites dealing with e-commerce.

Federal Communications Commission - Broadband Internet Access
This site includes policy statements and general information on how the Commission deals with Internet access.

Federal Electronic Commerce Program
Run jointly by the General Services Administration& the Department of Defense, this program helps government agencies use E-commerce tools, coordinates, monitors, and reports on the development of Electronic Commerce within the Federal Government. The mission is to develop a policy framework to support EC, help government agencies find and use the best EC tools, and spread the most promising ideas across government.

Access Certificates for Electronic Services
ACES, from the General Services Administration, facilitates secure on-line access to Government information and services by the Public through the use of public key infrastructure/digital signature technology.

International Trade Administration Electronic Commerce Task Force
This site contains the "Safe Harbor" privacy arrangement between the Department of Commerce & the European Commission which was formally approved July 27, 2000. The arrangement provides for the privacy protection that U.S. businesses must follow to comply with the European Union's Directive on Data Protection. This insures that U.S. businesses may continue to receive personal data from Europe that they need for daily operations.

Justice Department - Cybercrime
A collection of websites that deal with crimes against intellectual property, privacy and computer crime.

National Telecommunications & Information Administration
The NTIA is an agency of the Department of Commerce. The agency advocates innovation, competition, and jobs to improve the quality of telecommunication products and services at lower prices.
